Artist

Jum Nakao is a multimedia artist, designer, and creative director of third-generation Japanese descent. His show for São Paulo Fashion Week in 2004 was a performance that will go down in history. The scenes of the models tearing his delicate paper dresses off themselves captured the attention of the fashion world across the globe. He also produced the Rio de Janeiro handover section of the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. In 2015, at the request of Hollywood’s Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, he created an installation inspired by Sofia Coppola’s film Marie Antoinette.
