Jun Kitazawa

Artist. Representative of Jun Kitazawa Office Yakumo. Completed the second term of the doctoral course of Tokyo University of the Arts. Kitazawa works in cooperation with government agencies, educational facilities, medical institutions, companies, NPOs, local organizations and others in planning art projects throughout Japan that connect with people’s daily lives. His representative projects include Living Room, which creates a living room space that continually changes as it is filled with people’s unwanted furniture, which is then exchanged for other items; and Sun Self Hotel, in which an empty room in an apartment complex is transformed into a “hotel” with solar energy-generated electricity. In recent years he has also been carrying out projects in other countries in Asia including Nepal, Taiwan and Indonesia.
