Toshima Welfare Home for people with disablities Sakuranbo

Established in 1992, this facility provides supported living services to encourage self-support and enable people with physical and mental disabilities to retain their independence in the familiar community where they live, when it has become difficult for them to work or attend sheltered workshops etc. due to the death, aging, illness, etc. of guardians and primary caregivers. Sakuranbo supports people with disabilities living in Toshima-ku aged 15 or over so that they can get the services they need when they need them, enabling them to live comfortably within the community. The surrounding area is a residential area set in a pleasant environment, with a lively program of events organized by the neighborhood association. The facility is rooted in the local community, often participating in locally-organized events.
