Atsushi Miyata

Artist

Artist born in 1984 in Aichi Prefecture, resident in Tokyo. Completed postgraduate studies at Aichi University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts in 2009. From 2011 he was partner artist in the Toride Art Project’s core project Art in Danchi together with Sasa Moe. Miyata finds creative opportunities in the scrutiny of differences in relationships with other people through workshops and drawings, as seen in projects like his interactive and playful Bibuncho book project for children and adults. Key projects and activities include Chirashi Chokoku (the winning workshop of the POCORART National Open Call Exhibition in Tokyo in 2016, co-sponsored by 3331 Arts Chiyoda), Summer Vacation at the Art Museum (Kariya City Art Museum, Aichi 2014); BibunCho/ Bibun Manga/ Bibun Picture Book, Aichi Arts Center (from Kids Triennale at the Aichi Triennale 2013); and The Art Museum in the Mysterious Forest (Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art 2010).
