Japan competes with other Asian countries to represent the region at the FIFA World Cup. Wanting to support the team from our home in Dazaifu, Fukuoka Prefecture, we launched Asia Daihyo Nihon (Japan Representing Asia) in 2006. Regarding soccer as an aspect of culture, we undertake art projects aimed at blending sport with art, and present supporters’ ideas and hopes to the world through art works produced at our workshops. In 2015, with the support of the Japan Foundation Asia Center, we changed the project’s name to ASIA DAIHYO and began engaging in activities in the ASEAN region in the lead-up to the 2018 tournament in Russia.
